Libraries, Cultural Institutions Invited:
Send Publicity to ALA for IFLA in Poland

In partnership with the International Relations Office of the American Library Association, the Polish American Librarians Association invites Polish libraries and other cultural institutions to send brochures, pamphlets, and other promotional materials to ALA for distribution at the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) World Library and Information Congress, being held this year August 19-25 in Wrocław, Poland.

“PALA members will be volunteering in the ALA exhibit booth and helping to distribute the materials,” says PALA President Leonard Kniffel. “At every IFLA conference, a large portion of visitors to the exhibit hall are from the host country, and this is an opportunity for us to showcase some of the materials and services of America’s best Polish libraries, archives, and cultural institutions before an international audience.”

In addition to books and brochures, PALA is also planning to display looping video of various collections, especially the Polish Museum of America Library in Chicago. Institutions with video or photographic materials are encouraged to send them on a CD for showing in the booth during the conference.

Please send materials to: International Relations Office, American Library Association, 50 East Huron Street, Chicago, Illinois 60611, ATTN: Michael Dowling/IFLA. Send approximately 100 copies of brochures. ALA will ship the materials to Poland. No materials will be returned. Send CDs or video to PALA President Leonard Kniffel, 2743 North Greenview Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60614. Questions? Contact Kniffel at lkniffel@sbcglobal.net. Deadline for receipt of materials at ALA: July 31, 2017.
